I created Minds-on learning when mainstream education got too messy.  Students are falling through the cracks and not getting the services they need because schools are understaffed.  Teachers are getting burnt out left and right because of large class sizes.  There is not enough money, not enough resources, and not enough support from administration.  Parents have turned to homeschooling.  Teaching children at their own pace, in a more intimate setting, but they are doing it on their own.  Their children might be struggling with something beyond the book. My goal is to meet each child where they are and help them grow to their full potential by targeting specific needs.  With 15 years of teaching experience in K-6 settings, I have helped many students of varying ability levels thrive in their education.  My approach is one that comes from the heart. I get to know the children: their likes, dislikes, background knowledge, strengths, and weaknesses and embrace them, creating a sense of comfort in the learning process.  By removing the barriers, students have the ability to approach learning their own way. They just need the right motivation and tools to help them turn their minds-on.

Community involvement!

Our monthly Game Nights give students a chance to interact with peers from the community. We host clubs, workshops, and guest speakers to provide multiple learning opportunities!
